How do I define myself as a member of my family?
Family:
-family = unity, knowing I come from a family that works together
and cares for one another no matter what.
- I see myself in my family as an individual. I come from a home with two loving
parents who have been married for 24 years. I have two amazing sisters one who
is 22 and the other who is 14. So I am “known” as the middle child. My mother
and father have made it known no matter how old, what grades I make, or what I
look like I was me and I way myself and I have the same love that all my sister
gets.
Relatives:
-Compared to my relatives I have many different views due to my
big family there are many different views regarding everything.
On my mom’s side I see how tend to favor one child or how my grandparents
favor children. My dad’s side is more like the way my family works, we see that
we are all different and don’t favor one child over another.
Friends:
-My friends, well there’s only a few I trust but the ones that I
do trust I treat them like my family. When I treat them like my family so does
my mother and fathers as if they were their own. When my friends become closer
they tell me that my family foundation is firm.
-I have a best friend still in high school in her senior year as
I went away to college. I thought friendship was gaining out all the time,
texting, and talking 24/7. As I came to school I found out that Taylor is truly
my best friend. We could go for days without texting and if our phones did ring
either if we were upset, mad, sad, or happy we were there for one another. I
have found that true friendship is being there when they need you, when you do
talk it’s like you haven’t stopped and knowing that you’ll always be there with
loyalty, trust, happiness and most of all forever.
Peers:
-Peers as a whole show me that my family is not the norm; I get the chance to see how
others live and how their family works. It gave me the chance to see how my
peers view my family as a rare occurrence.
Organization:
-The organization that I am apart of now is my sorority Zeta Tau
Alpha. The reason I joined Zeta was for the fact I wanted a sense of family and
home way from home.
- I thought Zeta would bring me to have so many friends, guys,
“sisters” and be known. In reality is has brought me so much more. Zeta has
shown me the true meaning of friendship, love and morals of life. Zeta has
taught me to be a better person, to look for the good in everyone, to be humble
is success and without bitterness in defeat.
Career/ Education:
-The career that I want to pressure is Special Education. I chose
this career for the fact that children with special needs are looked at
differently thus letting people think they are not good enough. I want to be
able to give these children the chance to shoe their wonderful ablates to the
world.

This assignment gave me the chance to reflect on my home life not only as of now but growing up. I found a new way of looking of how fortunate I am to come from a two parent house hold and also to have an amazing relationship with my sisters. This assignment also gave me the chance to appreciate my friends and my sorority, to realize how much they have both given me.
